Telematics Applications with TransIT

When drivers are transporting loads or technicians are on the road with service orders, it should be possible to communicate customers or the sales staff in charge as to how the order is progressing. In order to do this, the planner has to be able to determine the position data of the vehicle.

Using TransIT as a planning tool it is easy to achieve this by means of the Telematics Extension Module. This ensures that the GPS position data of the vehicles are constantly sent to TransIT where they can be evaluated and visualised at any time. In this way the Telematics Module makes it possible to monitor the execution of plans in real time.

The additional hardware required is merely a conventional mobile phone (or any other Java capable mobile end device with Internet access) and a GPS mouse, which is often integrated.
